@SuperMario4, Thanks for your comments. It is hard to know how long the consolidation will last, there are just too many things that can cause a spike up or down. Most importantly, from a chart perspective, it has not enough historic trend data to make educated guess about its forthcoming direction. S&P500 has that advantage and that is why many analysts are seeing a repeat of 1929 saga to happen. It is one thing to predict and waiting to see if that event does take place.
I think we are in this global disruptive era where many industries are going through a topsy turvy. You have electric cars, buses and self-driving vehicles already take place in some countries. AI , Machine learning and IOT - many are still struggling to understand the terminology while start-ups are eager to ride on this bandwagon.
The consumers , in my opinion must stay updated, being open to explore and take some calculated risks. Will cryptocurrency be here in another 5-10 years time? I don't have the crystal ball but I know I am getting myself mentally prepared for the upcoming market crash. That would be a lifetime opportunity, don't miss it .
