ATR Dow Theory Because we built this engine using the Average True Range (ATR) instead of static percentages, the script natively "auto-scales" to whatever timeframe you are looking at. An ATR on a 5-minute chart might be 15 points, while an ATR on a Daily chart might be 300 points. The multiplier simply says: "Wait for a move equal to X candles." Because of this, your settings don't need wild adjustments, but you do need to tighten the multipliers on the massive macro timeframes (Weekly/Monthly) because a 10x ATR drop on a Monthly chart would mean the economy is literally collapsing before the script fires! Here is the professional calibration cheat sheet for your Dow Engine: 1. Adaptive Moving Average PeriodWelcome to the A-MAP (Adaptive Moving Average Period). Instead of following one line like our ancestral traders did, this indicator acts like a real-time radar, scanning 200 different moving averages simultaneously to find the exact speed the market is respecting right now. 1. The Core Concept: Fastest Respect Most traders guess which MA to use (5? 20? 50? 100?). The A-MAP finds the fastest possible period that price has not touched or crossed during your chosen lookback window. Support (Aqua Circles): The shortest MA currently sitting under price that hasn't been broken by its lows. Resistance (Orange Circles): The shortest MA currently sitting above price that hasn't been broken by its highs. Intuition: When these circles are low (near the 0 line), the trend is incredibly tight and aggressive. When they jump higher (toward 200), the trend is weakening or loosening, and price needs a much slower average to find footing. 2. The Trailing Gaps: Market Elasticity The small Green and Red Crosses represent the breathing room between price and the trend. Green Crosses: How far the current Low is from the Support MA. Red Crosses: How far the current High is from the Resistance MA. Interpretation: Points near zero imply price is hugging the MA. This is a high-conviction, efficient trend. Points spiking high implies price is overextended (stretched like a rubber band). Look for a pullback or a jump in the period dots as price catches its breath. 3. The Squeeze and Market States The background colors and fills tell you the weather report of the current chart: Olive Fill: Support Period > Resistance Period. Pullback: Market is leaning heavy but respecting a floor. Maroon Fill: Resistance Period > Support Period. Throwback: Market is climbing but grinding against a ceiling. Blue Fill: Rapid flipping due to high tension between bulls and bears fighting for the fast lane . Fuchsia BG: Chaos (High Volatility) by price moving so fast it broke all 200 MAs. Aqua BG: Consolidation (Low Volatility) by stagnancy so long that no MAs are being respected as they all gradually converged to the price. 4. Input Config To control the A-MAP, use the trail lookback input to set trend strictness: lower values (1–2) offer high reactivity for scalping, while higher values (5+) filter out noise for steadier trend following. Define your "radar" range using Min/Max Periods, set a period step to determine granularity of MAs to test, choose your MA Type and Price Source to match your preference. Adjust ATR Length to overlap the gaps between fastest MAs and price on approximately the same scale as the MA periods. Finally, tweak Volatility Sensitivity to dictate how easily the indicator triggers "Chaos" or "Consolidation" background alerts during extreme market moves based on the same ATR. Summary Think of the circles (aqua/orange) as the "structural slab" and the crosses (green/red) as the "tension." When the slab is moving and the tension is low, you are in a clear trend but of changing speeds. When 2 different slabs (support and resistance) co-exist while maintaining orientation, the current trend is pausing for a better entry opportunity. The 2 slabs could also co-exist whilst flipping orientations, which implies indecisiveness and liquidity sweeps in-play. When slabs vanish (background change), the price is reflecting a change in character from trending to sideways (contracting/expanding).

It calculates the area under the bell curve beyond the upper and lower range boundaries, adjusted for the square root of time (Forecast Horizon) and the standard deviation of log returns (Volatility Lookback). 🔹 Volatility Squeeze The Squeeze Intensity metric compares the current Average True Range (ATR) to its 100-period simple moving average. When the ATR is significantly lower than its historical average, the intensity increases, signaling that the market is in a period of low-volatility consolidation that often leads to a "volatility explosion." 🔶 SETTINGS 🔹 Calculation Settings Range Length: The lookback period used to determine the highest high and lowest low that act as the breakout boundaries. Forecast Horizon (Bars): The number of bars into the future the model is predicting. A longer horizon generally increases the probability of hitting a boundary but decreases the precision of the timing. The rectangle changes from red to green, and the label updates to "R→S." The Tokyo ProtocolThe Tokyo Protocol Overview After a long period of private development and live backtesting, I am releasing "The Tokyo Protocol" to the public. As my focus shifts entirely toward developing automated algorithmic trading bots, I wanted to open-source this manual day-trading engine for the community. The Tokyo Protocol is not a simple moving average crossover tool; it is a comprehensive, state-based logic engine designed to read market structure, momentum, and hidden liquidity zones to generate highly filtered, institutional-grade trade signals. How the Engine Works In Simple terms you have: 1) GO signal - all green indicators, this is for a conservative trader. All green either buy at market or look for a retrace and continuation 2) Early GO signal- This is yellow, it can get you into a trade earlier, just know you don't have a full stack confirmation, so, more risk 3) REVERSAL- full divergence detected, reversal warning. At its core, this indicator acts as a state machine. It evaluates price action against a non-repainting daily pivot and processes a matrix of momentum and volume indicators to determine the current market "Regime." Instead of printing signals on every minor fluctuation, the Engine grades the market into distinct states: • SUPPORTING: The trend, momentum, and volume are aligned. Look for GO signals. • WEAKENING: Momentum is diverging or volume is dropping off. The engine advises WAIT. • OPPOSING: The trend is actively breaking down or crashing into a major liquidity wall. The engine triggers an EXIT or REVERSAL. Key Features • Internal HTF "Brick Walls": The indicator silently calculates Higher Timeframe (HTF) Supply and Demand zones based on impulsive moves.
