GBPUSD//Compare with//GBPCAD

I am comparing this two pairs to see the correlation between them. Most of the time, they corresponded to each other. But It seems to me that GBPUSD is kind of moving ahead of GBPCAD a few days. Sometimes, they doest not corresponded at all. (eg: Financial Crisis about 2008)

Can anyone explain this phenomenon to me? Appreciated!
