This month has been very volatile for the markets. Volatility for the SPY in July was 10.3 %. We haven't seen double digits in volatility since March. Also, the SPY broke it's five months winning streak, and finished the month with negative return of -1.34 % .
There 's been a lot news this month, earnings , middle east conflict, Argentina, etc. It's during these times that your trading discipline is tested. Will you let your emotions make your trading decisions or stick to your plan?. It's not easy. The fact is the SPY remains above it's 200 ma , therefore, despite all the "market noise", this trade remains open.
