Dynamic Range Theory (DRT) Indicator

Decode Market Structure with Precision

Overview

Welcome to the Dynamic Range Theory (DRT), a revolutionary approach to price action analysis that transforms market chaos into a structured, actionable roadmap.

Say goodbye to confusing candlestick patterns and hello to a visually intuitive system that highlights range expansion, volume compression, and volatility squeezes.

The DRT Indicator empowers traders to anticipate breakouts, spot stealth accumulation, and ride momentum.

DRT structures price action into four key constructs:

Main Ranges: Bold candles igniting market momentum.

Inside Range Candles: Gray candles signaling consolidation within a range.

Inside Candles Below Average Volume: Pink candles marking silent accumulation.

Tight Closes: Vibrant markers of volatility contraction, priming explosive moves.

This indicator is your lens to decode the market’s hidden rhythm, making complex price action simple and tradable.

How It Works

The DRT Indicator visually organizes price action with color-coded candles and customizable settings:

Main Ranges (Blue): Identifies breakout candles that set the market’s structural foundation, displayed as blue.

Inside Range Candles (Gray): Highlights candles with closes within the Main Range, signaling momentum consolidation. Perfect for spotting setups in the simplified DRT Inside Ranges variant, where ranges with a main candle plus gray candles are marked.

Inside Candles Below Average Volume: Flags candles within the Main Range with volume below a 50-period SMA, indicating volume compression—a sign of stealth positioning by smart money.

Tight Closes (Pink): Marks non-main candles with ranges less than 60% of the 14-period ATR, highlighting volatility squeezes ready to erupt.

Информация о релизе
Hey everyone, welcome to my take on the Dynamic Range Theory (DRT) Indicator!

I’m super excited to walk you through this awesome tool that’s going to turn the wild chaos of the market into something you can actually use to make smart trades.

This is my personal spin on price action analysis, and I’ve designed it to be super simple and visual, so you can say goodbye to those confusing candlestick patterns and hello to a clear roadmap for your trading journey.

This indicator is my go-to because it helps me anticipate breakouts, spot those sneaky accumulation moments, and ride the market’s momentum with confidence.

I’ve broken it down into easy-to-spot pieces that make sense to me—and I hope they will for you too!

It’s all about giving us a personal lens into the market’s rhythm, turning complex stuff into something tradable.

My Key Features

Main Ranges: Bold blue candles that signal the start of significant market movements.

Inside Range Candles: Gray candles showing consolidation within a range, indicating a pause in momentum.

Inside Candles Below Average Volume: Pink candles that point to low-volume consolidation, often a sign of smart money preparing for a move.

Tight Closes: Vibrant pink markers highlighting low volatility, which can precede big price shifts.

HTF SMA Filter: An optional higher timeframe Simple Moving Average filter to refine my analysis with customizable timeframes.

Stats Table (DRT Stats): A top-right table providing detailed statistics to guide my trading decisions.

Current Range Table (DRT Current): A bottom-right table showing the current range percentage and duration based on the market direction.

How I Use It

I love how this indicator paints the picture for me with color-coded candles and settings I can tweak.

Here’s my process:

Main Ranges (Blue): When I see a blue candle break out, I know it’s laying the groundwork for the market’s next move. It’s my starting point!

Inside Range Candles (Gray): These tell me the market’s chilling within the range I’ve set. I watch for setups here, especially with my Inside Ranges variant.

Inside Candles Below Average Volume (Pink): I get excited when I see these—low volume means smart money might be lurking, and I’m ready for the next big thing.

Tight Closes (Pink): These are my signals for a potential explosion. When volatility squeezes, I know something’s brewing!

HTF SMA Filter: I turn this on when I want to align with the bigger picture, adjusting the timeframe to match my strategy.

Stats Table: I check this to see my +Main and -Main counts, violation rates, and probability of the next move. It’s like my personal trading dashboard!

Total: How many +Main (upward) and -Main (downward) ranges I’ve seen.

% Occurring: The percentage of +Main and -Main out of all ranges—easy to grasp!

Total Pairs: Counts of back-to-back +Main or -Main ranges for me to track.

Violated Pairs: How many times those pairs got broken, which I find super useful.

% Violated: The percentage of broken pairs out of the total—keeps me honest!

Prob Next +Main: My chance of the next candle being +Main if the last one was—love this for planning!

Prob Next -Main: Same deal, but for -Main. I can toggle this table on/off and resize it to fit my screen.

Current Range Table: I glance at this to see the current range percentage and how long it’s been going—helps me stay on top of the action.

Current Range in %: The percentage based on whether it’s a +Main (low to high) or -Main (high to low)—my personal way to measure the range.

Current Range Duration: How many bars this range has lasted, which I find helps me time my moves. I can turn this on or off and adjust its size too—perfect for my setup!

This is how I make sense of the market, and I hope it feels personal and helpful for you too.

It’s all about simplifying the chaos and giving me the confidence to trade smarter.

Let me know how you use it—I’d love to hear your take!
