PrecisionCombo by MohaveTrader

PrecisionCombo is an overlay indicator that merges two independent analysis engines — one for structural trend detection, one for momentum quality assessment — into a single unified signal system. It is designed to help discretionary traders evaluate market context before acting on directional signals.

This is a decision-support tool. It does not manage orders, execute trades, or replace a trader's own analysis, risk management, or position sizing.

🔎 WHAT IT DOES

PrecisionCombo overlays the following elements on a standard candlestick chart:

— A volatility-adaptive trailing stop line (ATR-based with proprietary smoothing)
— Unified entry (B) and exit (S) labels from a state machine that merges both engines (first signal wins — no duplicates)
— Breakout (BO) and Breakdown (BD) labels when price meets a multi-condition impulse gate
— Momentum pressure triangles (early-stage directional buildup)
— Breakout permission dots (pulse score confirms sustained momentum quality)
— Fast exit arrows (short-period Hull MA reversal while in profit — early warning, not a hard exit)
— Wave-based candle painting (reflects dominant momentum direction)

Two modes are available in settings:
— "Hybrid (First Wins)" (default): B/S labels generated from both engines
— "BO Only": entries restricted to breakout signals only, with S labels and fast exit arrows gated behind active BO trades

⚙️ HOW SIGNALS ARE GENERATED

Signals are not based on a single indicator crossing a threshold. Each signal type requires multiple independent conditions to align simultaneously.

Trend Engine (structural direction):
The trend engine uses a volatility-adaptive midline built on Wilder's smoothing (RMA) to track price equilibrium, paired with an ATR-based trailing stop. Trend state changes require consecutive candle body-strength confirmation — a streak of qualifying bars, not just one bar crossing a line. This reduces false flips during choppy conditions. A chop filter counts recent trend reversals over a rolling lookback window and suppresses all signals when flip frequency exceeds a threshold, indicating a ranging market.

Momentum Engine (quality assessment):
The momentum engine evaluates conditions independently using Hull Moving Average slope detection, accumulation/distribution analysis weighted by relative volume, and a composite pulse scoring system. The pulse score aggregates volume behavior (40% weight), A/D confirmation, trend alignment, and momentum acceleration into a 0–10 scale. A configurable threshold must be reached before the engine confirms momentum readiness. A dollar volume floor gate blocks signals on illiquid instruments.

Breakout Signals (BO/BD):
Breakout labels require all of the following simultaneously: the bar's true range exceeds a scaled ATR threshold (impulse), range expansion exceeds a multiple of the average true range (expansion), price maintains minimum separation from the trailing stop (trail separation), and a cooldown period has elapsed since the last breakout. These gates filter impulsive moves from noise.

Unified State Machine:
Both engines feed into a single state variable that tracks directional state (+1 or -1). When either engine fires an entry or exit condition, the state updates and a label appears — but only once per state change, preventing duplicate labels when both engines agree on the same bar. BO/BD labels take visual priority over B/S labels when both trigger simultaneously.

Fast Exit System:
A short-period Hull Moving Average (default 8) monitors for momentum reversals while the trade is in profit. When the Hull slope flips against the position and unrealized gain exceeds a configurable ATR-based minimum, a yellow arrow appears. Multiple fast exit warnings can fire during a single trade. This is an early warning — the trader decides whether to act.

📖 HOW TO USE

1. Apply to a standard candlestick chart only (not Heikin Ashi, Renko, Kagi, Point & Figure, or Range — these produce unreliable results)
2. Optimized for intraday timeframes (1m, 2m, 5m, 15m) on liquid instruments
3. Read context first: use wave candle painting and the trailing stop line to assess conditions before acting on any signal
4. Look for confluence: triangles (pressure building) → green dots (pulse confirmed) → B or BO label (entry confirmed) represents the highest-quality sequence
5. Use S labels and yellow fast exit arrows together — the arrow is an early warning, the S is the structural exit

All visual elements can be individually toggled on/off. Label sizes and offsets are adjustable. Alerts are available for all signal types including unified B/S, BO/BD, fast exit, and a combined trigger.

🔒 WHY THE SOURCE IS PROTECTED

PrecisionCombo uses a combination of standard technical analysis methods and custom logic implemented in a proprietary way. The specific components that distinguish it from publicly available scripts include:

— Weighted multi-factor pulse scoring system with configurable thresholds
— Streak-based body-strength confirmation for trend state changes
— Rolling flip-count chop filter for ranging market suppression
— Multi-gate breakout qualification (impulse + expansion + trail separation + cooldown)
— Unified dual-engine state machine that prevents signal duplication
— Timeframe-adaptive parameters (lookbacks, cooldowns, and thresholds auto-adjust by chart timeframe)

The underlying concepts draw on well-known technical analysis principles (ATR, Hull MA, volume analysis, accumulation/distribution). The specific implementation, weighting, interaction logic, and adaptive behavior are original work.

⚠️ LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMERS

— This is a decision-support tool for discretionary trading. It does not guarantee profits or predict future price movement.
— Historical signals visible on a chart reflect calculations on completed bars. They should not be interpreted as evidence of predictive ability or future performance.
— Entries are only one component of a trading approach. Risk management, position sizing, trade frequency, fees, and trader discipline are equally or more important.
— No indicator works in all conditions. PrecisionCombo includes filters for chop and low volume, but no filter eliminates all false signals.
— Standard candlestick charts only. Non-standard chart types produce unreliable results.
