Events
Recessions & crises shading (custom dates & stats)Shades your chart background to flag events such as crises or recessions, in similar fashion to what you see on FRED charts. The advantage of this indicator over others is that you can quickly input custom event dates as text in the menu to analyse their impact for your specific symbol. The script automatically labels, calculates and displays the peak to through percentage corrections on your current chart.
By default the indicator is configured to show the last 6 US recessions. If you have custom events which will benefit others, just paste the input string in the comments below so one can simply copy/paste in their indicator.
Example event input (No spaces allowed except for the label name. Enter dates as YYYY-MM-DD.)

Economic Calendar EventsThis indicator provides an overlay of Events on the main chart, where each Event is visually represented by a Label and vertical Line, placed at the specified time interval for each Event.
Events are defined by user data as an input string on the settings widget panel for the indicator. The event data is a string (semicolon delimited) whose grammar is a representation of a collection of Event records, where each Event record is a comma-separated list of fields, which correspond to:
The name of the event.
The symbol or ticker to which the Event applies (or `*` if it should apply to all ticklers).
The timezone and then the year, month, day, hour, and minute of the event, respectively.
Each Event record is separated by the semicolon ";" character.
As an example , assume `evantData` is the string:
"SVB,*,UTC,2023,03,10,00,00;US CPI,*,UTC,2023,04,12,08,30;ETH Shanghai,ETHUSD,UTC,2023,04,12,08,30"
In the above case, there are 4 Events defined, three of which apply to all tickers and one applies only to ETHUSD, as follows:
The first event is named SVB and applies to all tickers at UTC time on March 10, 2023 at 12:00:00.
The second event is named US CPI and applies to all tickers at UTC time on April 12, 2023 at 08:30:00.
The third event is named ETH Shanghai and applies to the ETHUSD ticker at UTC time on April 12, 2023 at 08:30:00.
The fourth event is named FOMC Rates and applies to all tickers at UTC time on May 3, 2023 at 14:00:00.
The following is a BNF for defining event data:
market-events ::= event-record | event-record ";" market-events
event-record ::= event-name "," ticker ”,” event-timezone "," event-time
event-name ::= string
event-time>::= year "," month "," day "," hour "," minute
event-timezone ::= string
ticker ::= "*" | string
string ::= +
year ::= {4}
month ::= {2}
day ::= {2}
hour ::= {2}
minute ::= {2}

Event Locator BasicUsable under any conditions and in all markets, the 'event locator' provides a foundational layer for any count-based trading strategy or system. This specific installment color codes events - all down events are green, up events are blue, double-marked events are red, and smooth events are gray. It also wraps the price sequence in a 3-d line landscape plot - providing a visual using lines that are event sensitive. Though events are sometimes referred to as 'fractals,' this is not a fractal tool. These marks are based on 3 candles, not 5 as is common with the Bill Williams fractal scripts. Every countable event on the chart will be marked using this tool. Really, Elliott Wave should have told you about this... (because you can't legitimately count w/o it)
//This indicator was originally a mod of the 'Williams Fractals' indicator - modified by Erek A.D., Nov. 2017
//It was rewritten from the ground up by 'Brobear' in Sept./Oct. 2018
//This code marks 'rough' AND 'smooth' EVENTS in price flow
//EVENTS are naturally created in markets when SEPARATION occurs at candle tips
//SEPARATION happens when a high is flanked by lower highs or a low is flanked by higher lows
//EVENT LOCATORS like this provide an objective foundation for counting price movement
