How does the source of real-time data affect the trading experience?
There are two primary options for obtaining real-time data for trading:
- Using verification from your broker account. Contact your broker directly to inquire about their real-time data packages. For more information on the verification available on TradingView, please follow the link.
- Purchasing data package on TradingView. It can be bought separately from a broker. To check the available markets and prices, please follow the link.
If you choose to purchase real-time data from TradingView, be aware of a crucial limitation: Once you connect to a real broker (not Paper Trading), the data of quotes displayed in your order panel or buy and sell buttons will still be delayed. This is because the order panel uses data directly from your broker and not from TradingView. This could lead to execution at unexpected prices, especially for fast-moving instruments or during volatile market conditions.
Users can also see a “non-tradable symbol” sign in the order panel. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that a supported instrument is selected on the chart. To filter tradable symbols, please open symbol search → tick the box next to the broker name, and type the name of the ticker.
If a ticker is selected correctly and you are able to trade it on the broker platform, the issue could be caused by the broker's lack of a real-time data subscription.
In the frame of our integration with some of the brokers, it is necessary to have a real-time data subscription purchased from a broker to trade through TradingView.
