The dollar against the safe-haven currency rose to a two-month high and rose against the euro in a narrow range. China has imposed tariffs on US$60 billion worth of goods imported from the United States in response to US tariffs on US imports of US$200 billion next week, but it has not further deepened market worries about the trade situation. The dollar was quoted at 112.34 against the yen and at $1.1676 against the euro. The US dollar index was at 94.614, an increase of more than 0.1%.
